I chose this clip because I think that it is a good example of someone teaching a beginner how to play a musical instrument. I have never come across a similar teacher though my experiences with music teachers which peaked my interest in the clip. When looking at this clip take note of the teaching approach taken, the reaction of the student and also the reaction of the bystanders. For context, this clip is from the tv series Friends, the teacher is Phoebe and the student is Joey. This teaching is proven to be problematic because Joey has trouble understanding/remembering Phoebe's strange ways of naming the guitar chords. Phoebe also gets mad at Joey when he is not making progress through her teaching style and he never ends up learning how to play guitar. This is problematic teaching because of the unconventional teaching style and lack of patience for the student.
