I chose this clip because I feel that it represents how lots of people learn an instrument through inspiration and careful study of a role model rather then getting one on one attention from an actual teacher. This speaks to me because I initially started by learning percussion mostly on my own, I would ask my teacher a few simple questions in music class but never had any actual lessons. When watching this clip, look at how the student reacts to the teachers inspirational words and how he imitates his methods on guitar. For context, this young boy wants to play guitar but is banned from it, so he hides away in this atic trying to learn as much as he can. This ‘teacher’ is inspiring the student though his own passion for music and his skills on the guitar. I would say even though this is more a style of ‘learning’ rather than ‘teaching’ I would classify this in the good teaching category. Inspiration and a good role model always bring a thirst for knowledge.
